Course summary
Delivered by leading Neuroscience researchers at the forefront of their field, our programme will allow you to advance your knowledge of brain function and dysfunction and gain experience in various cutting-edge experimental Neuroscience techniques. You will acquire a breadth of knowledge in experimental, applied and translational Neurosciences by joining the Southampton Neuroscience Group community, which is made up of biologists, psychologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists and mental healthcare professionals who share a passion for studying brain function in health and disease. You will undertake a research-based project within one of fourteen internationally renowned research labs in our purpose build Life Sciences building, and participate in interactive and experimental workshops. You will also have the opportunity to attend a national or international Neuroscience conference. The course is ideal for those wishing to pursue a career in Neuroscience or work in the Neuro-pharmaceutical industry.

Assessment method
Students will be assessed by a combination of continuous assessment and written examinations at the end of each semester to test your knowledge and understanding of the lecture and tutorial material. Continuous assessment is based on performance in tutorials, practicals and projects including dissertations and presentations.
Entry requirements
Undergraduate (first- or upper second-class) or postgraduate degree in biological sciences or closely related discipline.
