BEng(Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering has been developed with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and major partner employers. It fulfils the educational requirements you need to meet to register as a Chartered Engineer (CEng), when presented with an accredited MSc. The course also meets the educational requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). Learn the skills and knowledge you need for a successful career in this sector. Study digital and analogue electronics, mathematics and computer programming. Explore the application of electronics in a range of environments and examine signal processing, micro-controllers, communications, control systems and digital hardware design. Develop professional skills in project planning, group work and communication. Apply knowledge through practical projects in our well-equipped facilities. Gain an inside track on the industry through factory tours and professional briefings from leading organisations. Attend careers fairs and engineer 'speed dating' events to help you find work as soon as you graduate. Choose a career designing electrical and electronic systems, working on consumer technology or solving engineering problems for communications and power generation/distribution companies. You could also work in technology, manufacturing, transport and rail, aviation and a host of other industries.

Advanced Entry: Full-time Advanced entry for the full-time programme into Year 2 or Year 3 of this course is possible for students with suitable qualifications, such as an HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with all Merits in the Final year or an HND or Foundation Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with all Merits in the Final year. Part-time Please note there is no Year one entry for part-time to this course. Typical entry points for applicants with an HNC/HND qualification are: England Level 4: Higher National Certificate (HNC)* (RQF Level 4) or Scottish Higher National Certificate (HNC) - SCQF Level 7 - entry point will be year two on the six year course, so there will be five years of study remaining. England Level 5: Higher National Diploma (HND)* RQF Level 5 or Higher National Certificate (HNC Level 5) or Scottish Higher National Diploma (HND) - SCQF Level 8 - entry point will be year three of the six year course, so there will be four years of study remaining. *Please note that applicants are required to achieve all Merits in the Final year of the HND/HNC. If you don't have all Merits in the Final year or have studied a different but closely related subject, we'll consider your application and if we cannot give you Advanced Entry we may be able to credit you with certain modules. In your application form, please list all the HNC, HND and Foundation Degree units that you have or are taking.
