Course summary

*Subject to validation In these challenging times, it is more important than ever that we possess an understanding of the transnational structures which affect our daily lives. And in the current context, advanced practical knowledge of the workings of the European Union and the dynamics of Brexit are certainly an asset when entering the job market. You’ll take a deep dive into how European integration works – politically, economically, legally, socially, and historically – as well as disintegration, and the practical effects and meaning of Britain’s exit from the union. Against the backdrop of Brexit, the need for better understanding of European integration and disintegration has never been greater, both for UK students without the opportunity to experience Europe through Erasmus exchange, and for EU students seeking to understand the dynamics of the UK’s exit from the union. That is why the MA in Contemporary European Affairs is designed as a flexible, multi-disciplinary postgraduate degree programme.
