Course summary

Combining theory and practice, this course aims to provide a thorough grounding in international business management in an ever-changing global economy. Upon successful completion, it should equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to become a flexible, effective manager who can spot market opportunities and drive forward businesses to success in the international arena. Alongside modules focused on business strategy, operations and analytics, we’ll cover the basic principles of marketing, and how they relate to an international context – where you will have the opportunity to discuss and analyse key managerial decisions on formulating and executing international marketing activities by having the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills of marketing concepts including environmental analysis, buying behaviour, strategic market segmentation and more. This will be done through active case studies and practical examples. Through the use of guest speakers, real case studies and industry visits and fieldtrips, you’ll explore more about the external forces which affect business decisions, including but not limited to the influence some external/or market factors have such as fall or rise of oil prices or interest rates. We’ll discuss some of the biggest challenges and issues businesses now face, such as market uncertainties.
