Course summary
Studying for a degree with an integrated foundation year will offer you a supportive environment if you have been out of education for a few years or do not have the necessary UCAS points from your recent course of study. The foundation year (Year 0) will precede our standard 3-year degree course programmes and enables preparation for degree study, with successful completion granting direct access to the undergraduate course of your choice at Writtle University College. The BSc (Hons) Sports Science with Exercise Referral award provides a tailored degree-level sport science course to appeal to those students interested in developing their knowledge across a range of exercise related disciplines in relation to health conditions such as physiology, nutrition, psychology and the impact restricted health has on daily living. Provides the theoretical and developmental aspects of sport in conjunction with the practical skills needed for many of the varied careers that exist within the industry. Combining the acquisition of practical and transferable skills with theoretical understanding, the award will produce graduates capable of applying their scientific knowledge to the pursuit of improving the client's active daily living. There are many research projects and ancillary industries targeted at exercise rehabilitation as either an individual, or part of a collection, or a group. This award will give the student a thorough understanding of the aspects that influence individual personal welfare, health and needs when living with a chronic health condition.
