Course summary
This course is designed for those wishing to develop a career as a cyber security professional or to take a leading technical or managerial role. It is suitable for those from a computer science or information technology education background. The programme is also able to cater for those with no formal studies in computer science but where significant interest in cyber security can instead be demonstrated. The course covers all aspects of cyber security, including network, computer and information security. Alongside this, the course focuses on the business context, so that students can progress their careers more rapidly and aim specifically at management positions. By having GDPR in action, there will be more roles in companies for information security managers, which makes the MSc Cyber Security a brilliant opportunity for a huge market need. - Network Security: Explore advanced network and internet security concerns as well as sophisticated attack vectors
- Advanced Artificial Intelligence: Gain an overview of the concept of AI, current methodologies and applications
- Dissertation: You will conduct a sustained and intensive investigation into one project area, drawing on programme-related cognitive and practical skills
Entry requirements
- At least a 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in a related area - Or a relevant postgraduate or professional qualification - And/or relevant work experience - You should be able to demonstrate competency in computer programming - EU and international students need IELTS 6.0 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent
English language requirements
International students will need to produce evidence of an acceptable score on an approved English language test such as IELTS. We run pre-sessional English language courses to help you prepare for undergraduate or postgraduate study.
