It recognises our focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching and student learning. Today’s professionals need an understanding of business and the role of accounting, law, strategy, economics, statistics and finance in professional decision-making. This course will help you to develop that valuable skillset. It provide you with specialised knowledge in the area of accounting, as well as the professional, intellectual and inter-personal skills that employers are looking for. If you opt to include the 30-week placement as part of your course, you’ll gain invaluable workplace experience and can see how everything you’ve learned translates into the real world. You’ll also be creating a useful network of professional contacts at the same time. You’ll meet leading industry practitioners and professionals through fieldwork, seminars, assessment activities and presentations. The IBM Challenge, a series of simulated business exercises to which hundreds of teams of university students compete in three rounds, will give you the opportunity to further develop your employability competencies and meet potential employers. To add a truly international aspect to your studies, you can also study abroad at one of our partner institutions during the second semester of the second year. Currently we have partners in Australia, Canada and Europe.
