Topics include sustainability and the visitor economy, wine tourism, people management and business acumen. You will also learn about the foundation of wine production to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge to provide accurate supply chain and financial management advise within the work place. The course team consists of leading academics, and experienced industry professionals, along with diverse industrial networks to external international experts who deliver guest lectures on individual modules. Through lunch and learn initiatives you will have opportunities to connect with former alumni and industry experts to provide you with key networking opportunities and further career guidance. Progression opportunities and furthering your career This degree will set you up to enter the world of work immediately after graduation through transferrable skills acquired during a work placement. Our alumni works across the world in areas such as wine trade (import/export), consultancy, management and hospitality industries. Jobs include business development managers, drinks industry consultants, retail and brand managers. What subjects do I need to get into the world of global wine business and management? We consider a range of previous qualification at Level 3 including subjects such as sciences, economics, hospitality, travel and tourism, statistics, life sciences, media and marketing. Modules

You can expect to study a range of different modules over the duration of the course. These are designed to introduce you to principles of business and marketing through to understanding the wine industry and the production process involved in producing, marketing and trading wine. Modules include (subject to change) - Principles of Wine Business and Marketing Study Skills and Business Numeracy The Operation of a Wine Business Grape to Glass: wine production Understanding Wine Styles Introduction to the Global Wine Industry Work Placement (in second year of course) Strategic Management for Global Wine Business Wine Tourism, Sustainability, and the Visitor Economy Wine Sales and Social Responsibility Research Methods and Business Auditing Finance, Accounting, and Wine Legislation Research Project (in the final year of study - 30 credits) Consumer Behaviour and Product Innovation Note: Modules are subject to review and not all modules may be available. Assessment method

Students are assessed through a combination of assessment methods which may include writing reports, performing data analysis, practical exams (e.g., tastings), and coursework such as essays, case study analysis and presentations. In your final year of study, you will have the opportunity to submit a research dissertation (30 credits). You can speak to the Course Leader for a full list of assessments.

Qualified teacher status (QTS)
