Course summary
This four year masters level accredited degree allows the widest possible choice of modules in the fields of renewable generation technologies, embedded computing, digital communications, mobile technologies, optical networks, power electronic applications, power networks and robotics, dynamics and control. This flexibility enables you to experience many aspects of electronic engineering before specialising. As well as undertaking optional modules in specialised subjects, your final year project work may be within any of these fields also. You will also spend your third year studying at the University’s China or Malaysia campus, following the same curriculum as students based in Nottingham, making this a unique engineering degree.
Modules
All students follow a common programme in year one and you will study topics such as computer engineering, engineering mathematics, power and energy and information and systems. In year two, you will develop your design skills through a variety of lab based subjects. Modules include electrical energy conditioning and control, electronic processing and communications and practical engineering design solutions. In your third year, you will study on our campus in China or Malaysia Year and will study core topics including advanced engineering mathematics, analogue electronics and integrated circuits and systems, as well as a range of optional modules. In your final year you will undertake an individual project and study state-of-the-the-art technologies. In many cases this project contributes to the major industrially related programmes undertaken by research groups within the department.

European Baccalaureate - 77-84% overall including 80-85% (or 8.0-8.5) in Mathematics 5 and 80-85% (8.0-8.5) in Physics, Chemistry or Biology. GCSE requirements - English grade C (numerical grade 4)
