Course summary
The Masters in Law (MLaw) is an accelerated two-year, full-time (or four-year part-time) postgraduate degree in law. The programme provides students from diverse backgrounds with an opportunity to study the foundational law modules which are required for the academic stage of legal qualification. This means that the degree covers those subjects that are generally regarded as pre-requisites for professional legal studies. Students planning to practice law in a particular jurisdiction should contact the appropriate regulator in that jurisdiction to confirm that the programme meets its requirements.

How to apply
International applicants
Evidence of an IELTS* score of 6.5, with not less than 5.5 in any component, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University is required. *Taken within the last 2 years. International students wishing to apply to Queen's University Belfast (and for whom English is not their first language), must be able to demonstrate their proficiency in English in order to benefit fully from their course of study or research. Non-EEA nationals must also satisfy UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) immigration requirements for English language for visa purposes. Entry requirements
Normally a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University in a discipline other than Law. Exemption from these requirements may be considered for those applicants who hold a Master's degree (or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University) OR hold a 2.2 Honours degree in a discipline other than Law (or equivalent qualifications acceptable to the University) together with 2 years’ relevant professional experience. Admission under Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) may be considered for this course.
