University Centre Weston has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
This course will provide you with the technical skills and workplace experience to gain a career in the dynamic and varied field of information technology. It is a strongly vocational course with emphasis placed on the practical application of principles and the acquisition of skills The course is taught by staff with a range of professional experience in the IT industry, and is designed in conjunction with employers to meet the current industry requirements for IT staff with technical competence and a flexible approach.
Year 1 modules will include: Computing applications, Software design and development, Systems analysis and databases, and Web technologies and platforms. Year 2 modules will include: Service support tools and techniques, Computing project management, Object-oriented software design and development, Digital devices: implementation and usability, and Work-based experience.
