This programme is aimed at those wanting to work in the animal management sector in industries as varied as animal welfare, production, education, companion and training. The course provides learners with underpinning knowledge of animal health, husbandry, welfare, behaviour, animal science and management. There is an emphasis on the development of skills; general skills such as communication, IT and teamwork, and practical skills such as animal handling, health checking, monitoring and evaluating behaviour, training animals, design and maintenance of animal accommodation and assessing animal welfare.
