Modules
Year 1 You’ll be introduced to different aspects of the law, including legal research skills, courtroom procedures, contracts and professional legal practice. You will also develop your communication, legal writing, presentation and problem-solving skills which will help you throughout your studies. Core modules Public Law Legal Systems, Skills and Methods Law of Torts Professional Legal Practice 1 Contract Law Business Law and Practice Year 2 This is when you will begin to explore business as a specialism, examining issues from commercial, marketing, human resources and business start-up contexts. Alongside this, you’ll continue to develop your legal knowledge and skills of interviewing, mooting, negotiating, advocacy, research and case analysis. Core modules Professional Legal Practice 2 Criminal Law Equity and Trusts European Union Law Land Law Contemporary Issues in Commercial Law Optional Placement Year You can gain valuable industry experience and earn money on an optional placement year, returning to your final year with confidence, hands-on experience and contacts. Final year You’ll choose six option modules from a wide range of different areas which allow you to tailor your studies to your career goals. Modules cover areas such as criminal law, commercial law, HR, IP, equity and finance.
