A Brighton Law with Business degree prepares you for a variety of rewarding career paths, including roles in legal practice, entrepreneurship, corporate law or consulting. Our Law with Business LLB(Hons) is a qualifying law degree recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board. Modules
Year 1 You’ll be introduced to different aspects of the law, including legal research skills, courtroom procedures, contracts and professional legal practice. You will also develop your communication, legal writing, presentation and problem-solving skills which will help you throughout your studies. Core modules Public Law Legal Systems, Skills and Methods Law of Torts Professional Legal Practice 1 Contract Law Business Law and Practice Year 2 This is when you will begin to explore business as a specialism, examining issues from commercial, marketing, human resources and business start-up contexts. Alongside this, you’ll continue to develop your legal knowledge and skills of interviewing, mooting, negotiating, advocacy, research and case analysis. Core modules Professional Legal Practice 2 Criminal Law Equity and Trusts European Union Law Land Law Contemporary Issues in Commercial Law Optional Placement Year You can gain valuable industry experience and earn money on an optional placement year, returning to your final year with confidence, hands-on experience and contacts. Final year You’ll choose six option modules from a wide range of different areas which allow you to tailor your studies to your career goals. Modules cover areas such as criminal law, commercial law, HR, IP, equity and finance. The fees listed in the table above are for full-time UK undergraduate students in academic year 2025-26. You will pay further fees in each year of your course. Fees may increase each year. UK undergraduate and certain postgraduate fees are regulated by the UK government. The annual fee increase will not exceed the UK government's maximum regulated tuition fee limit set for the relevant academic year. Many of our courses include the option of a salaried placement year. Tuition fees for a placement year are charged at a lower rate of £1850. The international tuition fees listed above are for full-time courses during the academic year 2025-26. Further tuition fees are payable in each year of study. Non-regulated tuition fees, which usually apply to international students and UK postgraduate students* are subject to an annual increase of a maximum of 5% or the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), whichever is higher.
