Developed in partnership with Cisco Systems, Palo Alto Networks and CompTIA you will build relevant skills and knowledge that employers need in a range of professional IT careers related to networking, Cybersecurity and coding with this Foundation Degree, this would lay the groundwork for further professional and academic education and a successful future career in the industry. Enhance your aptitude and ability if you are already working in networking, cybersecurity or coding or start developing your expertise for a career in this field, and gain vendor certifications in industry standard products like Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), (CCSA) Cisco Certified Security Associate. Additionally, you can complete the Linux+ (LPI) and Administration qualifications that are often requested by the IT industry. Advance your vocational skills (practical) in networking with Cisco Systems and Security, increase or learn new skills in cybersecurity using Palo Alto Firewall Equipment and coding of language such as Python and gain more skills within the infrastructure, implementation of active directory and troubleshooting. Develop the use of the latest versions of Windows and Windows Server operating system and Linux Client/Server Distros. On completion of this course you will receive a Foundation degree in Computer Network Engineering. You will then be able to complete a top-up year to study towards a BSc in Computer Network Engineering. Please note that this course will undergo a title change to - FdSc Network Infrastructure & Security Management.

Qualification requirements

GCSE English Language and Mathematics A* to C, (or 9 to 4 where numeric grades are being awarded) Students that have passed a recognised Access programme will also be considered. Mature applicants (aged 21 or over) who are able to demonstrate relevant skills or knowledge gained in employment or vocational activity will be considered and may be invited to interview. An interview is required for those applying who do not meet the entry requirement. You will be asked to write a 500-word academic report and/or a practical assessment to gain an understanding of your writing and technical skills prior to the course.
