The School of Humanities, based in our historic Regent Street building, offers a vibrant, multidisciplinary research environment, at the centre of which are several innovative research groups and centres. We have a well-established PhD programme and you can study with us in, or across, a wide range of disciplines, including modern languages, visual culture, English literature, history, linguistics and translation studies.
Applicants should have a minimum classification of 2.1 in their first degree or equivalent and preferably a master's degree (or masters degree pending). Applicants whose first degree has not been studied in English should have IELTS 6.5 overall and 6.0 in all elements. Applicants need to submit a research proposal of 2,000–3,500 words.
