Course summary

The Healthcare Technologies MSc/MRes will train students in healthcare engineering and build their clinical and industrial awareness of problems and solutions for technology in modern global healthcare. The MSc/MRes will prepare students for doctoral research degrees or employment in the healthcare sector.

  • Developments throughout engineering are transforming modern healthcare. The rise of machine learning, the adoption of surgical robotics and the availability of advanced medical image analysis and big data have opened up several new domains of knowledge which will be key to further technological advances. Our MSc/MRes program will fully equip students to take advantage of these exciting new developments and maximise their potential to transform healthcare.
  • The opportunity for all students to link with our industrial and clinical partners will enrich their experience, allowing students to develop advanced technical competencies that have clinical and commercial relevance. On completion of their studies, students will be well-prepared to take control of their own career trajectories and to begin to lead new developments in these technological advances.


Entry requirements

Minimum 2:1 first degree (or equivalent) in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Medicine. In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme.
