You could end up being responsible for cash flow, or carrying out financial audits, for example. So we’ll start by giving you a thorough grounding in all areas of accounting and finance, before offering you the chance to specialise in particular areas. Year 1 This is a common first year across all Accountancy courses and comprises: Core modules: Quantitative Analysis Financial Accounting Accountants in Organisations Management and Cost Accounting for Accountants The Legal Environment of Business and Employment for Accountants Year 2 Core modules: Accounting information Systems Management Accounting Financial Management Corporate Reporting and Governance Option modules: Choose one from a list which may include: Personal Financial Planning Company Law for Accountants Small Business Enterprise and Planning Developments in Banking and Finance Management Science Applications Year 3 (optional placement year) Final year Core modules: Corporate Finance Advanced Management Accounting Issues in Accounting and Finance Advanced Corporate Reporting Option modules: Choose two from a list which may include: Tax Framework Audit Framework Investment and Portfolio Management Strategic Management
