If you have a postgraduate diploma, or credits for conversion, our top-up degree by blended learning offers the chance to gain a Master's in Healthcare Practice. This Healthcare Practice MA is a top-up degree comprising two modules to develop your leadership skills, your academic rigour and your ability to link research to practice. You will build on your existing postgraduate award and increase your confidence in appraisal of literature. The course is ideal if you have a postgraduate diploma or 120 credits at Level 7 and wish to build on them for a Master's degree in Healthcare Practice. Employers are seeking people with competent research skills to deliver evidence-based practice. You will develop these skills with an independent research-informed study, in which you devise and propose a project for change, undertake an audit or service evaluation or an extended literature review on a topic of your choice. Research methods assessment is a conference-style presentation, proposing your project. The dynamics of dissemination assignment is preparation of professional/academic dissemination;the project is a 10,000-word dissertation of an extended critical review, independent audit or work-based project.

Entry requirements

Applicants from a UK educational background should have a first degree, usually at 2.2 or above, plus either of the following: A postgraduate diploma obtained through, for example, a programme of study which leads to registration with the Nursing or Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) OR Equivalent 120 credits at Level 7, e.g. health-related CPD credited courses.
