The electronics industry has revolutionised life in the last few decades, and continues to push the boundaries of the physical world to produce faster, more powerful and more cost-effective technologies that enable products such as personal computers, mobile phones and the Internet. This programme provides a solid core of knowledge in the discipline, allowing students to choose specialist options for deeper study later in the degree, providing considerable flexibility for you to develop your subject-specific knowledge according to your own developing interests. As with all our undergraduate degrees, the BEng Electronic Engineering is fully accredited by the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

A level ABB Essential Subjects: Mathematics (or equivalent) is essential. Excluded Subjects: General Studies Critical Thinking
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) DDM We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. A level in Mathematics at grade B is also essential.
Access to HE Diploma D: 30 credits M: 15 credits Pass Access to HE Diploma (Engineering) with 30 credits at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit or higher. To include at least 12 credits in Maths related units.
Scottish Higher AAAAB Only acceptable in conjunction with Scottish Advanced Highers.
Scottish Advanced Higher AB Acceptable in conjunction with Scottish Highers. Advanced Higher Mathematics is essential.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme 34 points With 6 in Higher Level Mathematics.
Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (first teaching September 2015) A - B We will consider this qualification alongside or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications, as equivalent to one A Level.
Extended Project C We recognise the value of this qualification and for this programme you will be eligible for a reduced offer of one grade below the typical offer, where an EPQ is taken alongside 3 A Levels or equivalent and you achieve a mark of grade C or higher
Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal D3, M2, M2 Cambridge Pre-U Mathematics is essential.
OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma DDM We consider a range of OCR qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. A level in Mathematics at grade B is also essential.
