Course summary

The HNC in Sport is delivered on UK Academy sites in Bicester, Blackpool, Manchester, Stratford, Warwick and Weymouth. Loughborough College works with UK Sports Academy to oversee quality assurance. Students must be engaged with the UK Sports Academy in order to apply for this course. Students can progress onto an HND in Sport following the course and there are options to top up into a full degree at Loughborough College. The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and experience to progress into a career within the sports industry.The course blends theoretical underpinning with practical application to give students the expertise to move into employment and further study. Students also gain an understanding of performance and can apply theories and concepts of topics like nutrition and technology to their football. Assessment method

The programme uses a variety of assessment techniques to ensure that you can demonstrate the range of learning outcomes. Subject knowledge and understanding is assessed through examinations, coursework essays, coursework reports, individual or group presentations, written evaluations, debates and posters will be used as other forms of assessment. These also assess a range of transferable skills, including confidence in academic written communication. Simulated problems and case studies are used to assess problem solving skills and creativity in design solutions – these may be assessed through unseen examinations or as a written essay/report.
