This course offers you the opportunity to study either full-time or part-time with the aim of converting your existing Foundation Degree or HND into a full BSc (Hons) degree. This Course provides you with the specialist knowledge and skills required for a careers in electrical and electronic engineering. Electrical Engineering enables students to build their skills in working with machines, electronic circuits, microprocessors, simulation software and renewable energy equipment This degree offers students an excellent route into professional practice and recognition as a qualified electrical or electronic engineer, fully equipped to develop and manage demanding projects. You will study a range of highly interactive modules, including practical and theoretical delivery in areas such as: • Electrical Power Systems • Innovation in Sustainable Engineering • Electronic Devices and Systems • Power and Electronics • Independent Engineering Research Project Emphasizing the importance of work-based experience, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to existing companies and gain valuable skills that will inform your future practice. You will be expected to complete a level of self-directed study throughout the duration of this course, and we require you to commit a dedicated amount of time to your learning both in and of college. Assessment method

The programme uses a variety of assessment techniques to ensure that you can demonstrate the range of learning outcomes. Subject knowledge and understanding is assessed through examinations, coursework essays, coursework reports, individual or group presentations, written evaluations, debates and posters will be used as other forms of assessment. These also assess a range of transferable skills, including confidence in academic written communication.

Qualification requirements

240 credits at Level 5, either from a BTEC Higher National Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline (with a minimum of 5 Merit module grades) OR a completed Foundation Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. We welcome applications from mature students over the age of 21 and may be flexible in our normal offer if you show a commitment to succeed and have the relevant skills and experience of working within the industry.
