This course has a subject classification which requires students whose nationality is outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland to have an ATAS certificate, irrespective of country of residence at the point of application.

Entry requirements

You must have • a UK honours degree (or equivalent) in physics, astronomy, geosciences, chemistry, engineering or mathematics. Some option modules have additional entry requirements. We’ll ask you to prove you meet these when you register for any of these modules: • Calculus of variations and advanced calculus (M820) • Advanced mathematical methods (M833) We recommend you have • minimum IELTS (International English Language Testing System) scores of o Reading: 5.5 o Writing: 5.5 o Speaking: 5.5 o Listening: 5.5 o Overall: 6.0.
