BSc (Hons) Osteopathic Medicine - 3 Years About the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) and the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) - part of the BCNO Group The British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) and the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) are part of the BCNO Group and are partnered with the University of Plymouth. BCOM and ESO have an international reputation for academic and research excellence in Osteopathy. Known for the support we provide to students and for the quality of our teaching, BCOM and ESO students receive a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology and nutrition, as well as developing osteopathic techniques. This three- year full-time degree provides students with 1000 hours of clinical experience whilst also developing key business skills and research experience, enabling our graduates to work in established clinics or to build their own practice or to work for the NHS. BCOM and ESO graduates have pursued successful careers working with athletes, corporate consultancy, university-level teaching, work with animals and medical research. We are noted for our warm and friendly atmosphere. The supportive atmosphere between students and staff is exceptional, providing a close-knit support network for all. BCOM and ESO offer the perfect place to train to be an Osteopath, with their on-site teaching clinics and fantastic locations. BCOM is close to London's vibrant Camden Town as well as Regents Park and Wembley Stadium. The campus is directly opposite Finchley Road tube station and only a 7-minute tube ride to Bond Street station, a popular shopping district. The ESO is situated in Maidstone, the county town of Kent, and just an hour from London by train. Beautiful countryside and miles of coastline are also just on the doorstep and the campus is located just around the corner from Maidstone's buzzing town centre. About the course You can choose to study Osteopathy at either our BCOM London or ESO Kent campus for September 2025 entry. Our BSc (Hons) Osteopathic Medicine program is a comprehensive 3-year course designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed for a career in osteopathy. With 1000 clinical hours integrated into the curriculum, you’ll gain extensive hands-on experience in our onsite clinics. This practical training is complemented by rigorous academic coursework, ensuring a well-rounded education. Throughout the program, you’ll learn to apply osteopathic principles to diagnose and manage a variety of conditions, promoting overall health and well-being for your patients. Our expert faculty provide an ideal learning environment, fostering both personal and professional growth. Learning is through problem-based learning and case-based scenarios with a hybrid model of teaching using both online and face-to-face methods. The course is currently undergoing the approval process with the University of Plymouth and will undergo an RQ process in February 2025.

Assessment method

The assessments are designed to be stimulating and challenging, stretching the students' knowledge and practical skills. Assessments include essays, presentations, group work, reflective accounts, ISCE (integrated standard clinical exam), and clinical assessments with a final competency clinical assessment.

Our experienced Admissions Team provides support and guidance throughout the application process, including applications for student visas. With our Student Route Sponsor License we are able to provide Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letters and sponsor international students looking to study Osteopathy in the UK. Qualification requirements

The Admissions Team considers applications on an individual basis taking into account a wide range of qualifications and educational experience. If your course is not listed please contact our Admissions Team to see if you qualify for entry. All applicants for the degree course are made through UCAS and applicants are encouraged to submit their application by mid-January, though BCNO do accept applications throughout the annual UCAS cycle (subject to availability). Additional entry requirements:- Criminal records declaration (DBS/Disclosure Scotland) - All successful applicants will be required to have Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance prior to enrolling onto the course. Health checks - Completion of a health questionnaire and health check will be required prior to enrolment to identify and support any additional needs. Interview - The interview forms an integral part of the selection process. Interviews are usually through Teams. Offers are through UCAS and are subject to applicants providing a completed Confidential Criminal Record Self Declaration form and DBS clearance.
