Course summary

The challenges of the 21st century requires leaders and managers who can adapt to rapidly changing environments, understand complex situations, find innovative solutions to problems and then lead their organisations forward. Our MBA programme has been designed in consultation with local and national employers and stakeholders to meet current industry and management requirements. It will enable you to develop a systematic understanding and critical awareness of current leadership and management issues and will provide the opportunity for you to explore your individual development as a leader and manager. The course is designed to provide you with the knowledge to develop your critical thinking skills, reflective learning in order to apply these within your specialist area. You will also develop your understanding of the interplay between theory and practice in management. The MBA includes the real-life team consulting project, which will help you to develop transferrable skills and real-world training during your degree, whether you want to change fields, advance in your current role, or move into consultancy. You may also choose to progress academically through either a PhD or Doctorate within a business discipline.

Modules

The Masters of Business Administration (MBA) programme has two parts which span over three semesters: Part I: Six taught modules (120 credits) Part II: Dissertation or Work Related Project (60 credits) Total Award Credits: 180. Within Part I, all the modules are core and are compulsory for all the students studying for the Award: Finance and Accounting for Decision Makers (20 credits) Marketing - Strategy and Planning (20 credits) Global Leadership and Organisational Behaviour (20 credits) Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics (20 credits) Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship (20 credits) Research Methods (20 credits). Assessment method

The course contains a variety of teaching and learning methods which will guide you towards developing the academic skills necessary for studying at Masters level and to achieve the learning outcomes of the programme. A variety of assessment methods are employed and include coursework, essays, assignments, reports, presentations, case study presentations, reflective journals and examination


Entry requirements

As well as a minimum 2:2 in a relevant Honours Degree, applicants must demonstrate at least 2 years significant post-graduate work experience.
