OVERVIEW In the immensely competitive business environment, corporations are constantly seeking recruits with the knowledge and skills to solve complex problems and help achieve strategic success. Our Business Management foundation degree will equip you with all the essentials to put you in prime position for meeting this industry demand, paving your way to an accomplished career in business. This course has been developed in close partnership with industry experts and professional bodies including the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA), ensuring your learning is up-to-date and optimised for employment in the sector. You will be armed with core business management skills and an understanding of the international business environment, as well as a sound grounding in digital marketing, change and transformation, business analytics, finance and supply chain. As part of our business course, you will learn through a combination of real-world simulations and workshops, supported by cutting-edge practical training facilities including our Financial Trading Suite. You’ll also have the chance to gain extensive industry experience on a paid 48-week placement, while you will gain an additional CMI qualification on completion of the course (subject to payment of an additional fee). FACILITIES Our business courses offer students opportunities to develop practical skills in our cutting-edge Financial Trading Suite. One of the largest among all UK universities and the first in the country to be powered by Infront Professional Terminal, the suite features 21 workstations, large wall screens and a scrolling ticker providing real-time global market information. You will also have the chance to develop new skills in our Digital Creative Studio, featuring state-of-the-art video and audio production facilities including a video production studio with 4K cameras and green screen technology, audio podcasting, vision mixing and editing facilities, as well as high-spec computers with Adobe Creative Cloud software and graphics tablets. If you want to set up your own business, our Enterprise Hive provides a wide range of start-up support, including incubation space, tailored mentoring from industry experts and networking opportunities. ACCREDITATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS This course is dual-accredited by the Chartered Management Institute. Our course has been developed in close partnership with the Business Graduates Association, offering you student membership and access to a range of learning resources. PLACEMENTS Our course offers you the option of a 48-week paid work placement, during which you will not incur any tuition fees. International applicants

All non-EU international students can apply directly via our online application forms: https://portal.ucb.ac.uk/#/admissions/direct-application/intro Undergraduate applicants can also apply via UCAS, if they wish to apply to more than one university. The International Admissions team aim to respond to any new application made directly via the online application form within 5 working days of receipt. However, this can vary during peak application periods (particularly January-March) or if the team require additional information to process your application. Applicants who apply to transfer to University College Birmingham on to a second year or final year of a course will have their previous course matched for entry. Each application is considered individually and careful consideration is given to all information on your application form. We may also need to contact you regarding your immigration status or previous studies in the UK.

Work-based: We also give equal consideration to applicants who are currently in work and wish to apply to UCB. To apply, you must have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, demonstrating management or supervisory duties. Your application must also include a reference from your line manager supporting your entry to higher education. For further details please contact Admissions. Students who are studying a mixture of qualifications will receive an offer that will be inclusive of all Level 3 qualifications.

Additional fee information

UK: If you are a UK student enrolling on a Foundation Degree or a BA/BSc at University College Birmingham in 2021/22, your fee for this academic year will be £9,250. A half year tuition fee is £4625. This is a yearly fee, and will increase with inflation in subsequent years (in line with the government’s permitted rise). If you are an English student studying your first higher education qualification, you can apply for a tuition fee loan from the Student Loans Company. You will not start repaying this loan until you leave the course and are earning over £25,000 a year. If you live in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, you should apply to Student Finance Wales, Student Finance Northern Ireland, or SAAS. The loans and grants available to you will differ from those available from Student Finance England. UCB does not charge for 24 or 48 week placements.
