City College Plymouth has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
Do you want to work your way around the world as a hotel manager, events manager, conference executive or tourism officer? This Foundation Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management at City College Plymouth is awarded by Plymouth University. It has been developed for those wishing to travel, to learn about the diversity of the hospitality and tourism industry and to ultimately become a successful manager or business owner in the sector. The integration of specialist subjects will provide you with more opportunities in the workplace, as well as reflecting on the economic importance of these topics for your future success. The qualification will give you the confidence and guidance to travel and work wherever you choose, enable you to progress directly into a career in a wide range of contexts, or to complete a hospitality-related degree at university.
The course may include the following subjects: marketing, leadership and team development skills, international travel and tourism, culinary arts and gastronomy, costing, finance and business performance, events management, licenced trade management, research and personal development skills, managing in the hospitality industry, managing people.
Assessment will be through projects, report writing, group events and reflective accounts. Some subjects have in-class tests.
