Course summary
This course aims to enable students to stand out in the competitive sports related career field by developing a specific area of expertise within sport science such as performance analysis, sports nutrition, leisure management, exercise physiology and psychology, biomechanics. Placements and work experience opportunities are available throughout your period of study to gain more industry experience.
Modules
Core modules: Sport Science Research Methods; Sport Science in Action; Sport Research Project. Optional modules: Current Issues in Sport and Exercise Psychology; Exercise Physiology; Performance Analysis; Biomechanics of Optimal Performance; Current Topics in Performance Nutrition.
Assessment method
Assessment includes oral presentations, assignments, poster presentations, journal articles and an interview.
Entry requirements
A UK Honours degree (minimum 2.1) or equivalent in a relevant sport science discipline including psychology, biology or biochemistry. Applicants with appropriate experience or other relevant qualifications may also be considered. International students need IELTS 6.5 (with minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing) however other English language qualifications may be taken into consideration.
