Working with Families and Children (Top-up) at South and City College Birmingham - UCAS

Course summary

Working with Children and Families Studies explores the physical, social, and intellectual development of children. It examines not only the individual development of the child but also the place of children within society. The later stages of the programme take a broader perspective and include a range of contemporary issues in the lives of children, the place of children in society, and changing social attitudes to children and ‘childhood’. These are addressed by exploring issues around the family, the community, and the work actions and law in relation to children and their health and well-being. The programme takes a holistic approach to the study of children and childhood.
