Course summary
Taking this course at Chesterfield College will give you the knowledge, practical experience and confidence to progress into a career in Television, Film, Video Editing, Television Content Production, Television Scriptwriting and Television Studio Operations. It is aimed at dedicated students who want to move into the creative industries or further training, and are looking for a practical training and a nationally-recognised qualification. This full-time course is delivered by experienced professionals who are experts in the fields of media and television; with industry and teaching profiles. Skills covered are tailored to industry requirements. The course is practically driven but also demands academic ability to build a solid grounding in production theory, industry knowledge, and business skills. It is anticipated that delivery for this course in September will be through some face-to-face delivery and some online delivery. We will continue to be guided by the Department of Education and Pearson guidelines. Our class sizes are typically small which is beneficial in adhering to social distancing measures and keeping our students and staff safe. We aim to move to full face-to-face delivery as soon as Government guidelines allow us to do so safely. Through taking your Level 4 at Chesterfield College, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various professional clients, including Chesterfield Football Club, Melodic Caring Project U.K and the Derbyshire Times. There will also be guest talks from amazing industry speakers. In the past we have even had the modeller from Marvel films for example. Students will have a fully revised content that is closely aligned with the needs of employers, professional bodies, vendors and higher education for a skilled future workforce. Once you have completed the HNC year, you can choose to continue your studies at college and top-up to a HND in year 2.
