Examine key political issues relevant to the global community today as you develop an understanding of the complexity and diversity of society. It’s a course combining political theory, political science, political economy, area studies and international relations to provide an in-depth study of contemporary politics, along with its key dynamics and structures. You’ll build and sharpen key skills in analysis, communication and interpretation.

Year 2: European politics in transition: continuity and change, Social research skills 1, Social theory and modernity, The environment, sustainability and politics, Globalisation and development: Africa and the BRIC economies, Plus option from the following modules: Introduction to the workplace, Making identities: citizenship, race and nation, Gender difference and equality. Year 3: Contemporary international politics, Dissertation, Work placement dissertation, America politics; ideology, culture and power Plus on option from the following modules: Genocide in the twentieth century, Women, power and politics, Politics and protest or Work placement.
