With a worldwide audience of over 474 million people, this practical qualification allows you to prepare for a growing industry, whilst sharpening your understanding of game analysis, esports APIs, scrim culture and marketing principles. By 2024, there are expected to be over 577 million viewers of esports worldwide. League of Legends World Championship finals reached 100 million unique viewers which is larger than last year’s Super Bowl of 98 million. Newzoo predicts esports revenues to reach $1.61 billion by 2024 with the UK growing by 118% each year. Our foundation degree in Esports Coaching & Management is tailored to prepare you for employment within the Esports industry. You will cover integral skills and requirements needed to enter the esports arena and how to stay relevant in an ever changing environment. You will look at esports ecosystems and how the industry works in its various forms of shoutcasting, coaching, management, analyst roles and marketing. There will be a strong focus on marketing and how to showcase your own skills off and utilising technology to help build yourself as a platform. This course covers:

Modules
Modules may include: Year 1 (Level 4) Games Analytics (20 Credits) – You will create professional analyst documents including spreadsheets, strategy plans and presentations using data that was collected manually. Scrim Culture (20 Credits) – You will be presented industry standard skills improvement techniques and will utilise these to support skill development for players using these techniques. Major 1 (20 Credits) – During Majors you will be grouped by your skills and will be tasked with being the support staff for an imitation “esports org” who are playing within an imitation “major”. Esports Ecosystems (20 Credits) – This module will give you an insight into the esports industry as a whole whilst looking at it’s short history and how it’s built today. Professional Development (20 Credits) – The purpose of this module is to enable you to acquire and develop a range of skills including transferable, personal, interpersonal, academic and subject specific skills that will enable them to succeed in the industry. Esports Psychology (20 Credits) – In this module you will focus on using current industry standard sports psychology techniques to help understand the theory behind performance and how to improve it. Year 2 (Level 5) Team Coaching (20 Credits) – During this module you will be given the skills needed to coach a professional esports team. This will include necessary player management, strategy & planning, communication and teamwork skills. Content Creation & Marketing (40 Credits) – During this module you will be shown how to market yourself and keep your brand running whilst you’re not signed onto a team. This will also teach you valuable skills towards team visibility growth. Tournament Streaming (20 Credits) – Within the Tournament Streaming module you will be introduced to shoutcasting and the skills that are necessary to succeed in that field. This will include research that goes into a shoutcast prior to the game, voice control, mic set ups, etc. Major 2 (20 Credits) – During Majors you will be grouped by their skills and will be tasked with being the support staff for an imitation “esports org” who are playing within an imitation “major”. Employability Skills (20 Credits) – The focus of the module is the development of so-called “soft skills” ; these are skills that are in addition to the expected technical skills of employment within the chosen industry. Skills such as time management, communication skills, project management and a good work ethic are skills employers look for.
