Course summary

If it is your ambition to develop your qualification and skills for success in construction industry management, this course has been designed in consultation with relevant organisations precisely for that purpose. It is calibrated to enhance your knowledge, skills, flexibility and adaptability, in preparation for your future in construction management within the built environment. Course details


This course will develop your qualifications and skills for success in construction management within the built environment. You will cover aspects of construction management and sustainable development principles related to the following modules:- Construction Technology, Science & Materials, construction Practice & Management. Specialist Mandatory Units include:- Legal and Statutory Responsibilities in Construction, Construction Information (Drawing, Detailing, Specification). Optional Units (Two from the following) are:- Measurement & Estimating, Tender & Procurement , Building Information Modelling, Principles of Refurbishment, Principles of Alternative Energy and/or Site Supervision & Operations.

Qualification requirements

NVQ 3 Site Supervision or Site Technical Operations with a pass in all modules is acceptable plus GCSE grade C in English Language, Maths and a Science or equivalent Level 2 qualification. Alternatively, mature entrants with previous construction experience may be recognised through Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) We welcome applications from people of any age who might not meet the standard entry criteria, but we would expect evidence of continuing academic and/or professional development and a capacity to pursue the course successfully.
