Course summary
This modular programme is offered to serving teachers and others involved with education (e.g. lecturers, guidance workers) to support professional development; there are a number of pathways available leading to qualifications in the following areas: general education; special educational needs; further education; guidance (vocational, educational); raising achievement in city schools; early years; lifelong learning.
Modules
Transformational dimensions of lifelong learning; independent study; teaching for learning; beginning a career: reflective practice for newly qualified teachers; evidencing learning from experience; researching education; dissertation.
Assessment method
Assessment is by a variety of methods including written assignments, directed tasks, posters and short oral presentations.
Entry requirements
An Honours or pass degree, with qualified teacher status (QTS) or other equivalent professional qualification, a teaching qualification with relevant experience, or substantial work experience.
English language requirements
International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with no component below 5.5 (or approved equivalent*). *The university accepts a large number of UK and International qualifications in place of IELTS.
