This exciting programme will prepare students for a management career in the International Travel and Tourism industry. The School is an ABTA education partner and the programme has been designed with a strong management and international focus for students to gain a detailed knowledge and understanding of the Tourism and Travel industry helping to create distinctive global graduates with cutting-edge guest service skills.

Modules
Year 1 provides an introduction and foundations to key issues, and development of vital skills within the travel, tourism and guest service industries globally and this is complemented by the study of core business disciplines in management and marketing. Year 2 has at its core an assessed placement and a focus on developing professional skills for the International Industry ensuring that all students have the opportunity to develop skills and experience. Year 3 develops the students’ knowledge and understanding by applying issues to specialist modules within a strategic framework. The students select either a Dissertation, or Consultancy Project and a Global Student Conference which critically considers the themes of global contemporary issues through International field study research.
Assessment method
The programme will be assessed through a structured mix of assessments which will include assignments, essays, planning and organising trips, management reports, debates, industry presentations and field study work as well as development records, exams, reviews, DVDs and blogs. Assessments will, wherever possible, develop employability skills as well as aiming to support the development of critical thinking, managing ICT, communication, numeracy, problem solving, interacting in teams, critical appraisal, self-management and leadership.
