This BA course has been designed to prepare graduates for employment by providing them with the skillsets required by employers in screen industries. The course embraces the truth of the adage that “Writers write!” and therefore, with the help of our industry professional tutors students are required to apply their learning to scripts throughout their time on the course.

Level 4 Across terms 1 and 2, students must successfully pass the following modules: Screen Studies: Landmarks in Cinema (30 CATS) Visual Storytelling (30 CATS) Working with Actors (15 CATS) Introduction to Writing Drama (30 CATS) Writing Short Films (15 CATS) Level 5 Across terms 3 and 4, students must successfully pass the following modules: Writing, Pitching and Developing Short Film (30 CATS) Writing Coverage 1 (30 CATS) Writing for Interactive Storytelling (30 CATS) Genre Analysis (15 CATS) Writing Episodic Television (30 CATS) Level 6 Across terms 5 and 6, students must successfully pass the following modules: Film Business, Marketing and Distribution (30 CATS) Adaptation (15 CATS) Writing Coverage 2 (15 CATS) Major Feature Film Project - Part 1 (30 CATS) Major Feature Film Project - Part 2 (30 CATS)
Assessment method
A variety of written assessments including short scripts, treatments, reports, essays, pitch bibles etc. and presentations No written exams
