Course summary
The course enables you to develop a core understanding of public services management, including strategic management, psychology and human behaviour disaster management, emergency response, public relations and marketing communications. In addition, you will gain contemporary and applied knowledge of the aforementioned subject areas which has career development, inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability centred at the heart of its delivery. . The BA Honours Top-Up Degree in Public Services Management will: • Provide a broad and integrated study of management within the public services. • Provide practical experience and transferable skills that will support career development with a view to either gaining employment in a supervisory or management role or gaining promotion from a current supervisory or management role. • Develop high-level employability skills and personal learning and thinking skills. • Provide progression to a Master’s Degree qualification in a related public services and management or business subject area.

Assessment method
The programme uses a variety of assessment techniques to ensure that you can demonstrate the range of learning outcomes. Subject knowledge and understanding is assessed through examinations, coursework essays, coursework reports, individual or group presentations, written evaluations, debates and posters will be used as other forms of assessment. These also assess a range of transferable skills, including confidence in academic written communication.
