Course summary

Our degree route provides a critical appreciation of the elements which digital marketing strategies cover, including web site development and analytics, consumer behaviour, social media marketing, digital campaign planning and branding within the global marketing context. You will be introduced to current and relevant examples of digital marketing and be given the opportunity to develop digital marketing plans for a range of companies and situations. Contemporary issues in digital marketing will be discussed and used in class groups to develop your understanding of the opportunities and multi-channel management decisions facing marketers. Using this knowledge, allied to the use of models and tools, will prepare you for employment in areas such as, campaign management, paid search advertising, and other digital marketing roles. Start your career solving real problems for real clients, whilst being taught by award winning lecturers who are enthusiastic about their subjects.

Modules

The first year will introduce you to the contemporary marketing environment, with an emphasis on the digital channels of communication and the pillars of business management (law, finance, human resource management, IT, decision making). Year 2 develops your knowledge in areas of customer insight, digital media, digital communications, project management and relationship management. The marketing content in year 2 will introduce you to branding within the luxury sectors, a focus for local businesses. In preparation for gaining a placement for Year 3, and a graduate job once qualified, you will study interview techniques, how to prepare for assessment centres and how to brand yourself in a competitive market. The final year brings together your previous study, with modules on how to personalize the customer experience, as well as strategic and global marketing, delivered alongside a module on agency life, to prepare you for the fast paced nature of the digital marketing industries.
