Course summary

This course has been designed to help you develop skills and knowledge in order to critically analyse the application of strength and conditioning programmes and their impact upon an athlete’s performance. You will evaluate all aspects of the fundamental scientific concepts and coaching practice underpinning the safe and effective application of strength and conditioning interventions with sports performers. You will study subjects to develop practical skills and theoretical knowledge about planning, delivering and evaluating strength and conditioning coaching session’s across s a variety of sports. You demonstrate the ability to critically analyse strength and conditioning programmes and apply appropriate athlete development training within the widest sport performance context. You will complete a research project on a topic agreed with your tutor in order to submit a dissertation.

Modules

You will study subjects to develop practical skills and theoretical knowledge about planning, delivering and evaluating strength and conditioning coaching sessions across a variety of sports.

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:

2022/2023 Full-time Fees The College will charge a fee of £9,000 per annum for undergraduate students, £7,200 per annum for HND/HNC students, £8,000 for BSc Construction Top- Up students. £9,000 for BSc (Hons) Animal Behavioural Science & Welfare( Top-up) Students, £9,000 for BSc (Hons) Equine performance and Therapies Top-Up Students, £9,000 for BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy Top-Up students and £9,000 for BSc (Hons) Sports Performance and Coaching Top-up students Students who started their courses in previous academic years will continue to pay the same fee as when they started.
