Course summary

Research areas include: non-linear equations, the Painlevé equations, classification of integrable systems, geometric integration, quantum integrable systems and topological solitons, functional analysis, representation theory and invariant theory of finite groups, non-commutative geometry, and computational commutative algebra.

International applicants

This course has a subject classification which requires students whose nationality is outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland to have an ATAS certificate, irrespective of country of residence at the point of application.

Entry requirements

A 1st degree in a mathematical subject with at least Upper 2nd Class Honours, or an MSc in a mathematical subject; students are required to meet the general University of Kent criteria for competence in English and to provide references for their academic achievements and potential for research.
