Covering a wide range of areas including physiology, psychology, biomechanics and nutrition, this course will help you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the impact of exercise on health and performance. - Choose from either a six or 30-week work placement, giving you the chance to make professional connections within the industry, as well as putting your learning into practice
- An optional alternative to final year dissertation project – a research expedition conducting in-depth research on the needs and responses of people completing a UK-based endurance event.

During the foundation year, you will study the following units: Academic Study Skills, Applied Sciences, Introduction to Biology, Introduction to Psychology, Mathematics in Science and Foundation Year Project.
