Course summary

At SPRU – Science Policy Research Unit, our research focuses on the direction, degree and impact of technological change. We aim to understand the varied pathways through which it may develop and how that can be strategically managed. We work on enhancing innovation in all types of organisations, and across all sectors. This involves developing and delivering tools to improve the management of innovation within organisations and between organisations and their suppliers and customers. Areas of study Key areas of interest include:

  • technology strategy
  • high-growth new ventures
  • infrastructure sectors
  • healthcare and bio-pharmaceuticals
  • the management of knowledge and intellectual property.

Entry requirements

You’re normally expected to have at least a Merit (an average of 60% of overall) in a relevant Masters degree and an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree. Your qualification should be in a subject area related to science and technology policy. You may also be considered for the degree if you have several years of equivalent professional experience.
