Oxford Brookes University has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
The Foundation Year in Mathematics enables and supports widening participation in degree level studies by providing an alternative entry route the BSc (Hons) Mathematics. The principal aim of this Foundation course is to enable the Foundation Year student to develop the skills and knowledge base required to enter Stage I of the aforementioned undergraduate programme. This programme is particularly suited for entry onto the mathematics degree course at Brookes as it provides an introduction to data analysis, coding and background in Mathematics which aligns with the core learning outcomes of the undergraduate programme.
This course will start with a thorough revision of GCSE and A-level Mathematics and will continue with an introduction to university mathematics. Furthermore, you will learn transferable skills that are key for undergraduate studies in Mathematics such as coding or data analysis. These skills are in high demand by employers in exponentially growing sectors.
