The Foundation Year is a one-year full-time programme that provides an entry route to the first year of the BSc Business Management and is designed to prepare you for the key subjects that will form the core of the rest of your degree in Business Management. This programme is delivered by Cass Business School, one of Europe’s leading business schools. The Foundation Year is designed to prepare UK and EU students for the key subjects that will form the core of the rest of your degree in Business Management. On successful completion of the Foundation Year you will have obtained a fundamental knowledge of mathematics, statistics, economics, IT and business management which will ensure that you are fully prepared to enter Programme Stage 1 of the main degree. The BSc Business Management (with Foundation Year) degree will provide you with the skills required to forge a career in the corporate world or to enter the management consulting industry. It will also deliver the tools required by those who aspire to be entrepreneurs or business owners. The Foundation Year is a one-year full-time programme that provides an entry route to the BSc Business Management. The Foundation Year is intended to provide a bridging role between pre-university study and the academic rigour of an undergraduate degree. As well as delivering important academic content, the core modules are designed to equip you with vital transferable skills. For example, you will learn how to construct a logical argument, how to write and deliver a presentation, how to carry out research, whether in a library or using online resources, and how to use appropriate referencing techniques. Once you have successfully completed the foundation year in Business Management, you can embark on the main Business Management degree or any one if its specialist pathways.
Modules on the Business Management Foundation degree include:

- Introduction to finance and accounting
- Introduction to Microsoft Office Suite
- Introduction to Business and Management
- Foundation Mathematics and Statistics
- Individual Project
Some assessment is by group work and individual assignments which you take home to complete. For year 0, there will be continual assessment using class or online quizzes and tests, but no large formal end-of-year exams.
