Course summary

You will be ready to implement, manage and design IT systems for business with this three-year degree in Business Computing. With your expert knowledge of software, hardware and IT systems, you’ll keep businesses - and the economy - booming. It’s essential stuff. And it starts here at Northumbria University. What will I study on the BSc in Business Computing? Starting with computer science essentials in your first year, you’ll become an expert in business information systems and IT Service Management by the time you graduate. This will give you the ‘big picture’ of how IT supports business, as well as the specialist understanding of how individual IT systems work. Business computing is always in demand because every organisation relies on effective IT systems to do their work. That means they rely on people like you too - the problem-solvers and big-picture thinkers. So - when you graduate from your BSc in Business Computing - you’ll be qualified for an in-demand career AND have the chance to make a real difference to your employer. Will I get professional experience on the BSc in Business Computing? You’ll have plenty of chances to practice your skills. You’ll take part in a business consultancy project in your second year, delivering a business computing project for a real-life company. This can be here in Newcastle or at our partner campus in London. Plus you can opt for an optional year in industry or studying abroad.
