This programme has been developed and designed to build upon Foundation Degree and other HE equivalent programmes. It will give students in the workplace the opportunity to continue their studies and further development of the accepted practice. The programme builds on students' existing knowledge and skills in business. It develops appropriate personal, intellectual and subject specific skills to enable students to consider and evaluate a range of business issues from a strategic and international perspective. Successful students will achieve a BA (Hons) Business, Enterprise and Management. This Award will enable the continuity of learning for students and in a period of economic uncertainly this Award is important because of the constant state of change. The flexibility of the content allows for the specific requirements of the learners to be addressed. For full time students the course last for one academic year.

Assessment method

The assessment process is an integral part of teaching and learning and, as such, supports and complements the learning strategy, in order to ensure that the required outcomes are achieved. The aim is to achieve learning through which knowledge is based on both understanding and application. Both the task and the assessment criteria are clearly explained to students within the module handbook. Assessment strategies used within the course include methods such as practice-based assignments, case studies, presentations, projects, problem-based scenarios, and negotiated learning contracts.

The award adopts the scheme admissions policy and criteria. This programme is predominately offered to those students who wish to continue their studies after successful completion of an HND in Business, FdA in Business / Business Management or other relevant discipline. The standard entry requirement is a Merit grade profile at HND level or Merit at FdA level from a UK institution. In the absence of formal learning qualifications applications are welcomed from persons who can demonstrate relevant work experience, including work in a voluntary capacity. The course structure actively supports claims for Accreditation of Certificated Learning. Ideally part time students need to be on employment which is relevant to their field. For those not in employment discussions will take place before being accepted on to the course to determine the relevance of previous work experience. International qualifications will be assessed against these criteria. Speakers of other languages will need to possess an IELTS band score of 6.0 (with no-less than 5.5 in any one element) or a recognised English Level 2 qualification.

Additional fee information

Fees are charged per academic year. Please note that the fees for those starting an 18 month part time Top Up course in the academic year of 2020-21 will be charged at £3975 in the first year and £1988 in the second year of their studies.
