This degree is delivered at the Bristol Institute of Performing Arts (BIPA) in the vibrant student city of Bristol, which has an established history of theatres and performance. Bristol is a creative city and it is renowned for its cultural activities and there are lots of opportunities for our students to get involved in the wider community. This course will develop your ‘triple threat’ through acting, singing and dance (jazz, tap, ballet) technique workshops closely linked to musical theatre performance projects. Learning through practical exploration of a variety of musical theatre styles, you will demonstrate your understanding through productions, workshops, performance and research projects. The School of Performing Arts has a 250 and an 80 seated theatre, along with specialised classrooms for singing and dance studios. This degree is a very practical based course with an emphasis on performances. Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of trips and international residences available from Rotterdam to New York. Our dedicated staff focus on developing each student as an individual, within a creative, enthusiastic and caring environment. On completion of this Foundation Degree the majority of students progress onto the BA(Hons) top-up year to complete the full degree.
