We provide a unique Master’s education in Materials Chemistry, offering the opportunity to carry out a 12-month research project from a selection that covers all aspects of Materials Chemistry. Optional modules enable you to gain specialist knowledge of core areas such as:
- supramolecular and nanochemistry
- polymer chemistry
- inorganic materials chemistry
- Both synthesis and characterisation are integral to the teaching around these areas.
Transferrable skills are at the heart of the programme and these aspects are assessed by submission of a thesis, a draft scientific paper, oral presentation as well as modules on data management.
Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biochemistry or other degrees with a significant element of core chemistry. Minimum classification 2:1 or equivalent OR 2:2 with two years relevant industrial experience. English requirement of GCSE grade C or IELTS 6.0 with a minimum score of 5.5 in each of the subtests.
