Enhance your understanding of the internal workings of many fascinating animal species. Animal science focuses on the scientific disciplines that underpin the management of captive, productive and companion animals. This will include but not be limited to animal health, biology, behaviour, nutrition and anatomy. Modules
Year 1: animal health, welfare and nutrition (30 credits), principles of animal science (30 credits), professional development in the work environment 1 (30 credits) and animal behaviour (30 credits). Total 120 credits. Year 2: professional development in the work environment 2 (30 credits); research methods (30 credits); advanced animal nutrition (30 credits); comparative anatomy and physiology (30 credits). Total 120 credits.
Assessment method
You will be assessed through coursework in the form of written and practical assignments, essays, project work, practical skills tests, oral presentations and written examinations. Most modules will have 2-3 assessments.
