Providing a pathway of practical activities across three years, this physical education course will offer a multidisciplinary experience to fit your individual career goals and learning needs. As part of your course, you'll:

  • Study all aspects of physical education, including best practice in teaching and learning, the scientific principles which underpin PE and the benefits of lifelong physical activity
  • Gain hands-on experience in a variety of settings including teaching PE in schools or leading community groups
  • Choose from a range of option modules to develop expertise in specialist areas to maximise your opportunities and enhance your employability prospects

  • Scientific Foundations of Human Movement for PE
  • The Making of Modern PE
  • Sociology of PE
  • Psychology of Motor Learning
  • Personal, Professional & Academic Development
Year 2 Core Modules:
  • PE & Sport Pedagogy 2
  • Employability in PE
  • Research Methods for PE
Plus at least one from the following year 2 modules:
  • Applied Social Science of PE
  • Social Psychology
  • Applied Human Movement for PE2
