Course summary
The Pearson BTEC Operations Engineering for England HND Level 5 is a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) that has been approved against employer developed standards, also known as occupational standards. Open the door to the world of engineering! Gain expert knowledge in engineering principles, production processes, electro and hydraulic systems, and fault finding. You will develop and apply your own ideas, deal with uncertainty and complexity, explore solutions, demonstrate critical evaluation, and use both theory and practice in a wide range of engineering situations. The Operations Engineering HND Level 5 is a two year course. During your first year, you will study a Level 4 HNC. Upon successful completion of the first year, you will then progress on to the second year if you choose to study the Level 5 HND. Assessment method
Assessment is via both coursework and practical examinations, including presentations and group discussions. The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

In order to study the Operations Engineering HND Level 5, you will need to have successfully completed: An MMP profile on a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Engineering (or a related subject), an A Level equivalent (minimum 80 new UCAS points) in related subjects, or an Access to Higher Education Diploma GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 and/or minimum IELTS score of 6
